Take a moment to breathe in, hold it for a while, and then breathe out. Our breath has been a symbol of life for generations across many countries throughout the world, and life is an incredible thing. Even though we don’t think about it on a day to day basis, life is a powerful force, something we literally cannot live without.
However, life does not just show itself in our breath. We can also speak life to others by encouraging them through our words and actions. For example, if someone just scored a point in a game, it makes us happy to hear them say “You’re awesome” to us rather than “What took you so long?”. This is because the first phrase builds up while the second tears down—that is, the first phrase is enlivening, while the second one is not.
Life also shines through in beauty and positivity as well. Think about it—a beautiful flower is quite a sight to behold, and a sign of life that brings joy to other lives around it.
Even though we often take life for granted, it is important every once in a while to step back and truly appreciate this awesome force. So the next time you hear positive words, see beauty, or even breathe deeply, remember the power and goodness of life itself!
