Patience is Power!

There are many times in our lives when waiting for something seems hard, such as when you’re waiting in line for ice cream, or waiting for school to be over for the year. However, in times like this, it is important to remember to have patience. According to Google dictionary, the definition of patience is “the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset”. If we can go through periods of delay calmly, we will appreciate the little things that occur in those times, and the wait may actually be more fun than we thought!

But how can you have patience if all you can think about is the thing you have to wait for? One way to do this is to not focus on that thing for a while. Concentrate on something else you like, or find something you can do while waiting. In this way, you’ll be glad when you’re waiting and glad when the thing arrives! Another thing you can do is try to understand the situation. For example, if you are waiting for summer break, you can try to understand that while you are in school, you are learning more about the world around you!

In spite of these tips, patience still may be hard for you to apply. If so, that is okay—still try to practice patience at least for a little bit. If you keep doing this, your patience will improve, and you will be calm while you are waiting for something and happy when you receive it.
