During this Christmas season, let us remember that we do not always know what goes on in other people’s lives. A gift for a friend could arrive late. Shops could close down, or one could lose their job. These types of things could make somebody angry or frustrated. When people feel angry, they can sometimes take out their frustration on us, but mercy is the answer to solve our problem. Mercy, according to merriam-webster.com, is described as “compassionate treatment of those in distress”. Even though you might be upset that someone didn’t give you a gift for the holidays, they might also be frustrated. So that is the time to show “compassionate treatment” to them, instead of yelling or pouting. Hence, this holiday season, show mercy to others. Whether someone makes a small mistake, or a large incident occurs, be compassionate, for that compassion might come back to you.
