Keeping Things Clean

Just about every creature that has a place to call home must clean it out every once in a while. Many times you just don’t feel like doing it. Then, you might finally do it–and find it in the same messy state the next day! This might further discourage someone, but with a few tips in mind you will be able to make your room cleaner and have it stay that way.

  1. Have a schedule. Many times, the lack of a regimen can cause us to fall out of order–and our rooms may follow suit. It doesn’t have to be a complicated plan. You can simply write out what you wish to complete on the different days of the week, and if you’d like you can put the specifics of each individual day’s tasks.

  1. Motivate yourself. In truth, there will most certainly be days where you absolutely just do not feel like cleaning anything. To shake off that lazy mindset, you can realize how much more free you will feel when the room is clean. You can also try rewarding yourself with a constructive yet fun activity like reading or drawing. Working in timed segments can also help push you forward to get the job done.

  1. Don’t pressure yourself! If there was something on the day’s list that you didn’t get to, don’t beat yourself up about it. Just move it to the next day, and keep up the good work!

Just as with any inhabited space, sooner or later your room will get messy. But by keeping a regimen, using the proper motivation and remembering self-encouragement, you will be able to enjoy a clean room for days to come!
