
There are times in our lives when things do not go the way we intended or would prefer. For example, perhaps one may feel discouraged by not working on a goal for the new year the way they would want, or an event they had been anticipating for weeks was suddenly cancelled.
In these moments, it may be tempting to be upset and dwell on our negative feelings. However, it will be more beneficial to us in the long run if we change our mindset and reorient it to focus on positive and productive thoughts.
Though not always the most intuitive, there are some small steps one can take to reorient their mindset, such as:
Taking a deep breath and thinking of how to improve the situation
Taking a break and focusing on something else
Doing something that makes one happy
If one follows even one of these steps to reorient their mindset when things do not go according to plan, they will be able to be more resilient in life and handle circumstances with more flexibility. This will lead to a more stable and content life overall!
