Did you know that August 6th is national Root Beer Float day? Frank J. Wisner created the first float ever made on August 19, 1893. The reason he created the root beer float was because he saw a mountain with snow and then he replicated it by putting an ice cream on root beer to look like a mountain. The traditional root beer float uses vanilla ice cream but vanilla isn't the only flavor of ice cream you can use. For example, floats can be made with chocolate ice cream and those are called ‘brown cows’. In some cases, floats can be made with cola. In the U.S.A, the chain A&W restaurants are known for their floats.
