This year is coming to a close, and we have entered the holiday season. From Hanukkah to Christmas to Kwanzaa and everything in between, people across the world will soon be making merry memories with family members and friends. Sometimes, however, a squabble can come up among relatives, and if left unchecked, this can lead to strife at a family gathering. Given enough time, even the silliest things can form relational rifts within a household! Luckily, a solution is available for this problem–forgiveness! Forgiveness can often be hard at first, as a person may have been deeply hurt, or the offending individual seems to lack remorse for their wrong. But truthfully, forgiveness brings freedom, as one no longer has to put energy or time into being mad at another. Their newfound peace can even encourage their aggressor to don humility, make amends, and be free from the bind of pride! So this holiday season, if you happen to find yourself holding a grudge against a relative for something, employ forgiveness and enjoy the gift of freedom it can bring!
