Fireworks are used during many holidays. But what is their origin? Well, fireworks were invented in China. Chinese people used to throw bamboo stems into fire and it would make a loud sound and an explosion. A couple years later they added gunpowder to their flaming invention that made it quieter and a little more safe. The people would put them on hand held wheels and lighting one would light them all. Then later the people attached these to arrows and launched them. And thousands of years later, we still use fireworks. People even have pyrotechnician jobs where they specifically make fireworks. So now you can recall the history of fireworks every time you hear one explode.
