When most people hear the word “superhero”, they might think of a colorful comic book or movie character with a magical ability, like super strength or speed. Others might picture a real individual, such as a firefighter or a soldier, or just a kind neighbor who rescued the person’s kite out of a tree! Whether fictional or physical, all of these individuals share one trait: they all use their power to do the right things. Power can be defined as “the ability to do something or act in a particular way” according to Oxford Languages. Everyone has power, and that means anyone can do anything they want to. But using your power to help others instead of only yourself is the greatest thing to do, since you can strengthen your self-esteem while blessing others! So give your newfound powers a shot: try helping out a friend struggling with homework instead of idling, or treat your siblings nicely instead of tricking them. Maybe someone will cite you as a superhero, because you used your power for good!
